I became friends with Ted from Sophomore through Senior years at North High.  He was the most positive guy - always smiling grinning and willing to be a friend to anyone.   I would see and talk to Ted almost every morning before we headed into school.   We  often talked a lot about cars and he was his own mechanic.  I seem to recall that in his senior year he had an imaculate Chevy II, Marina blue as I recall.  Ted rose through the ranks to become a Batallion Chief (that's a big deal).  At that same time, I left for Arkansas City where I joined the Police Department.  So, we lost track of each other for many years. By 1987, I was working for the State of KS doing investigations and while doing that I met Ted's wife, Diane, who was working for KBI.  Our offices were in the same State Office Building.   I would see Diane maybe once a month or so and she would give me updates on Ted and his career.
